South Glens Falls
South Glens Falls is a Saratoga County village bordering Glens Falls on it's Southeast corner, across the Hudson River. The area is home to Cooper's Cave, made famous by author James Fenimore Cooper's Last of the Mohicans.
South Glens Falls is a great example of “Community”. The South High Marathon Dance, formed in 1977, raises money for those in the community in need. The students, and the community that supports them, have raised over $5 Million dollars and gains more momentum every year.
The Harry J. Betar Recreational Field boasts ball fields of all types along with playgrounds and picnic areas and tennis courts. Moreau State Park is a little treasure with a wonderful beach and picnic grove, canoe and kayaking, fishing and hiking trails. Betar Byway is a walking/biking trail which runs along the Hudson River for approx. 2 miles. Great birding opportunity. Concerts in the park are held here all summer long.
